From shrimp to scallops and from cod to halibut

Shrimp, scallops, cod, halibut… the wooden display cases bearing the Fruits de Mer du Québec icon abound with products from the ocean. Crustaceans, molluscs and fish are vacuum packed to preserve their freshness and because they are sold frozen, they are easy to keep in the freezer until ready for use.

Shrimp, scallops, cod and halibut are portioned and frozen before leaving the Gaspésie, the Côte-Nord and the Îles-de-la-Madeleine. They are then transported to a packaging plant in Drummondville or warehouses in Montreal.
